Felipe “Phil” Tence Ruiz III

Phil is a seasoned and senior Organization Development & Human Resources Consultant.

He provides OD & HR Consulting services with pragmatic substance and depth to top organizations & teams based on over 27 years of proven experience as an OD & HR practitioner, the last 16 years of which was at a senior executive level.

Prior to The Ruiz Group, he was Human Resources Director for The Coca-Cola Export Corporation (TCCEC) in the Philippines. Among many others, he was the Philippine representative to the Pacific Group region (6 key countries) of HR practitioners in the Global Coca-Cola system. Philip was a member of the Philippines’ Senior Executive Leadership Team (Management Board) and was organizational adviser and executive coach to the CEO. As HR Director for TCCEC, Philip was key in re-crafting the Philippines’ Organisation, HR, and Cultural Strategy & Plans. He led the creation of a workable Employer Brand Strategy and Roadmap that became the umbrella direction for Culture-Rebuilding, Capability Building, Performance Improvement, and sustaining High Engagement. With the Employer Brand as an integrated strategy, Philip and his team personally led the design and implementation of numerous interventions that strengthened Employee Engagement during the Philippine unit’s most challenging business years (‘08-’09). Philip led the transformation and own engagement of the HR function and team into a cohesive, value-adding line partner and consultant. Philip was the only senior executive given the highest performance rating of Exceptional Performance in 2009.

Before Coke, Philip spent thirteen years in the Lopez Group of Companies, last of which was as Vice – President & Division Head for Human Resources & Organizational Development (HROD) of Bayan Telecommunications, Inc. (BayanTel), which is a key company in the Group’s Communications Sector(CommGroup) that includes, among others, ABS-CBN Broadcasting Inc. and Sky Cable.

Philip was key in the business and organizational turn-around and re-branding of BayanTel during the years 2004-2007. In 2005 & 2006, Philip’s HROD Division of 16 staff in BayanTel was awarded and recognized for two straight years with the company’s prestigious “Gawad Galing” Award for Best Performing Support Group in the company,

Previously, Philip was Vice President for HROD of the Sky Vision Group (Cable TV business), and AVP for Organization Development at the Communications Group under the office of its Chairman Mr. Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III. This group acted as internal OD & management consultants for ABS-CBN, Bayantel, Sky Group of Companies, ADTEL, and several other organizations in the Lopez CommGroup companies. His other earlier full-time HR work assignments were in advertising (J. Walter Thompson), fastfood service (IFFSI, Jollibee Foods), and construction (Engineering Equipment, Inc.)

Philip has an A.B. Psychology degree from the Ateneo De Manila University and had completed a Certification Course on Strategic Human Resource Management for Executives run by the University of Michigan. Among other developmental experiences, Philip was also trained as a Six Sigma Champion and Green Belt by Motorola University.
